Not much of a post today. I’ve miles to go before an appointment is kept — a medical appointment, for which I always seem to be late. Playing a professional psychologist, I’ve concluded that my chronic tardiness is a passive-aggressive thing; I dread not so much the meetings as their hurry-up waiting. But I’m working to overcome my unseemly condition, one worthier of a pouty teenager than a (partially) grown man. This time, I intend to be on time.
Hence only enough of it to cheat, to steal, to simply copy and paste a few items of pressing interest. First, he’s back. Jeffrey Epstein is back as a top headline. And the story’s a doosy. The Times:
House Democrats on Wednesday released emails in which Jeffrey Epstein wrote that President Trump had “spent hours at my house” with one of Mr. Epstein’s victims, among other messages that suggested that the convicted sex offender believed Mr. Trump knew more about his abuse than he has acknowledged.
Epstein flatly asserted that Mr. Trump “knew about the girls”…. [In a 2011 email] he told Ghislaine Maxwell … that an unnamed victim “spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned.” “I’ve been thinking about that,” Ms. Maxwell wrote back. [In a 2019 email] Epstein wrote to [author Michael] Wolff of Mr. Trump: “Of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.”
And Ghislaine is no fool. She’s as degenerate as they come, but she ain’t stupid. Rep. Jamie Raskin, ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, confirmed her intelligent, talented slithering in a press release.
Whistleblower information provided to the Committee indicates that Ghislaine Maxwell is working on filing a “Commutation Application” with the Trump Administration—demonstrating either that Ms. Maxwell is herself requesting to be released from her 20-year prison sentence for her role as a co-conspirator in Jeffrey Epstein’s international child sex trafficking ring, or that this child sex predator now holds such tremendous sway in the second Trump Administration that Trump and his own DOJ will follow her clemency recommendations.
It appears both are true.
On the even darker side, Trump is focused on weightier stuff. I leave you with satirist Andy Borowitz’s latest.
Trump Orders ICE to Arrest 67,000 NFL Fans Who Booed Him
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In a move that tests the limits of presidential power, on Wednesday Donald J. Trump ordered ICE agents to arrest the 67,000 football fans who booed him at Sunday’s Washington Commanders game.
“This should never be allowed to happen in this country,” Trump said, adding that the booing fans “were paid by Soros.”
Justifying his use of immigration agents, Trump accused all those who booed him of being in a Venezuelan drug cartel.
Elaborating on his claim, Trump said, “Despite our successful air strikes off the coast of Venezuela, somehow 67,000 of these criminals got through.”
Be safe, maybe avoid the streets, if not and your skin is naturally brown or you have a good suntan, do as the ICEers do. Wear a mask.
